Where can I buy wholesale lobster in the Massachusetts area?
I’ve been enlisted by my sister as her unofficial wedding planner, so lately I’ve been contemplating things like seating arrangements, weather contingency plans, and yes, food. It’s going to be a waterside wedding, so I thought lobster might be fitting for the dinner menu. Aside from the obvious clubs (Sam’s, BJs, Costco, etc) where can I buy lobsters wholesale? Where do restaurants get their seafood? I’m looking for distributers in the Massachusetts/Rhode Island/Connecticut area.
On volume you can probably work a deal w/ a retailer. Without a business you wont be able to get a true wholesaler to sell to you.You might be able to work an arrangement off the docks,go down and talk to a captain when his boat is on the dock and see what you can arrange. There is a guy in the Berkshires who comes out daily who might be able to help you as well. It’s called The Other Brother Daryl’s seafood company. The guys name is Darryl Sawin.
