Wedding Flowers Season May

Wedding Flowers Season May
What flowers can I have at a winter wedding?

My FI and I are pushing our wedding back from a year and a half away to two years away (for financial reasons).

The problem with this is that we’ll now have a January of February wedding (at the beginning of 2011).
We’re from the Chicago area so both months are verrrry cold! I know that buying in season flowers save money, but what flowers could we get in the winter time?

In the beginning, we were going to have a brown and blue May wedding with blue hydrangeas, but I am open to changing our color scheme.

why? blue is perfect for the winter.. and have it snow themed! how cute! hand out snowflakes for the favors.. like, book marks or ornaments..

mums are always available.. and lilies.. lots of white, diff colored lilies.. and you can paint or color the flowers.. use bright bows. roses get really expensive around Valentines, so be careful of using them.. and Gerber are as expensive in some markets! my florist told me they were more expensive in the Portland, Oregon area than roses!

asian lilies..or star lilies are very popular for weddings, and so many colors to choose from.. and you may find that narcissus and a few early spring flowers will be available, maybe iris, and you can have blue flowers that way!

i found one page of all sorts of flowers by the month, just google flowers in season for january and february, and you will get more links!
