Anyone know of any places in the Augusta, GA that I can have a wedding and a reception in the same venue?
I’m planning on getting married next year and we are on a really tight budget. Any other advice that I could get about the catering, cake, flowers, decorations, etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
don’t know what you consider a tight budget but here are a few budget friendly places where you get alot for your money;
St. Paul’s Episcopal church…..they have several lovely rooms which can accomodat from about 60 to 300 guests. you can rent the church itself for your ceremony for 750 dollars and the reception can be in one of their lovely rooms, depending on the size of your party. there is a reception hall you can get for 150 right off the sanctuary if you want a simple cake and punch type reception. the river room and terrace rents for 1500 which includes the kitchen. the berlin room goes for 500 plus an additional 100 for the kitchen. if you want a dance floor, they rent that for 500 additional and it includes set up and take down…tables and chairs are inlcuded. contact them at http://www.saintpauls.org/

The Historic Fitzpatrick Hotel in washington ga. was built in 1898. closed for several years, it was totally renovated and reopened in 2004. it is styled in the same old elegance of the early turn of the century buildings and retains the flavor of that time. you will have to ask them to give you a price quote based upon the number of guests you expect to have and what time of year you wish to marry. don’t feel shy about asking for a quote. that is after all what they do. contact them at http://www.thefitzpatrickhotel.com/photos.php?category=weddings
The Boat House…owned and operated by the city of augusta, this community center is a very reasonably priced location, right on the savanah river. the cost to rent the entire facility is 750 plus a 200 refundable deposit for cleanup. if you leave it clean, you get that back. included are tables and chairs, bar, dj booth, stage area, caterer kitchen and wrap around deck. you could hold your ceremony on the deck and move inside for the reception. contact them at http://www.augustaga.gov/index.aspx?NID=1085
Garden Weddings and Events….this is a lovely place to have an outdoor garden wedding and it is all inclusive so they provide everything for you, including a photographer. they have various packages available for the ceremony and reception and all inclusive packages as well. they start at 350 for a ceremony in their chapel which includes the minister and go from there. the reception prices range from a simple dessert reception at 14 per person plus and additional 100 if you want a to include a wedding cake (which is very very reasonable) to 1150 dollars for both the wedding and cake, chips, nuts and punch reception for 2 hour for about 25 guests to a full 4 hour buffet reception for up to 100 guests for 4500 (includes wedding ceremony, flowers, toasting glasses, photographer). the grounds are very lovely and provide a romantic backdrop for a very pretty wedding. you really should check this one out because the prices are great and the place is beautiful. contact at http://gardenweddingsandevents.com/
