It is a formal marriage with the coat too big for spring / summer?

I always imagined my dream wedding. Complete large poufy ball gown, and a formal agreement to sit down gala dinner later (not very black, but close enough). Is it too formal a setting for Summer or spring? I hope to have the ceremony at my church and the reception immediately following at a fun place Friday night. A winter wedding is a very bad (we live Buffalo, NY.) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is 2009. All his money can buy. 7/7/07 I got married in mid-summer at 7 pm. My Colors are dark blue, white, raised key money. What most people do not take the exam is the time of day. There is no such thing as after 6 attire. No matter what is the season. My marriage was formal and I had 2 live bands, a DJ, a Bentley to arrive in a Rolls Royce to make it 2 and excursions stretch for my big wedding. All of our total wedding costs $ 7000.00 dollars.
