What should I wear to my cousins wedding announcement in December in Finland (-30C)?

I do not really know the bride, but she said Marriages in Finland are very formal occasions. They were married at 3 pm (it was night around 1:30 at this time of year) by candlelight. What can I use to keep warm but still look stylish? It is not complete knee boots under my dress? Being in the UK and live only a very mild, I have many warm clothes.
