When it comes to grisly facts and things that go bump in the night, surprisingly Alberta has more than its share. While some are frightened by stories and would never consider even buying a house near a haunted house, others are attracted to them. That you are looking to avoid, or seek, here are some haunted buildings in the province apparently innocent.

Banff Springs Hotel: Probably the most haunted hotel in the province famous horror began when a young wife was his way through the spiral staircase when his clothing was burned by the candles on each side of the stairs. In a panic, she tripped and fell on the stairs spiral, finally breaking his neck. Since then, employees have reported noises from the bridal suite vacancies, or more the tragedy of the whole figure of a slender woman with a long dress that comes down the stairs until he is fired and disappears – almost as if to relive their tragic fate and over again. Apparently, the burn marks remain on the marble staircase to date.

In the course of history of the errant girlfriend, rumor that the family was murdered in room 873 in the hotel. The door was covered with brick, but the outlines of the old door is still evident. After the fingerprints of a child in the mirrors could not be eliminated, regardless of often or cleaned, the administration has decided to seal the chamber. The memories of seeing family members and a young girl hiding and laughter are common.

Apparently, the hotel remains the home of former employee, Sam Macauley. He worked there until his death in 1976 and has often been seen in the hallways, and accompanying persons in and out of elevators. Some have spoken with him before understanding its ghostly presence.

The Deane House: Considered one of the most haunted houses in Canada, the Deane House at Fort Calgary has a violent history. Originally built as the residence of the Superintendent of the Royal Northwest Mounted Police, Richard Burton Deane, was later moved and converted into an inn. There were at least seven deaths that occurred in the home during the last years, including a murder-suicide of a husband and a wife, a man died after falling down stairs and shot dead two suicides. In 1973 the house became Deane studio space for local artists and later a restaurant. Chronicle of the strange events is common in this creepy house.

Some stories include: the sounds of laughter when nobody is there, a bloodstain in the attic (where a child's suicide), that is not going away, a cabinet door not get stuck, a ringing phone that is not connected, a piano playing until someone enters the room, and an Indian man who claims the house was built on sacred ground.

Old Strathcona Guilty Martini: This bar Edmonton has a history of violence, however the staff has repeatedly experienced the events strangers here. Often, the bottles will rattle and clink glasses, even if they are exposed to each other, unexplained cold spots and shadows appear. Some say they feel a little cold in the back and approached by a ghostly man in black. We're not sure, however, if these stories are the result of the macabre, or simply talk about martini.
